Final leg – Orlando

After a week in St. Augustine we took advantage of a super cheap rate for two nights at Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando. It has a massive outdoor water park and lots of activities for kids, so it made sense to stay there along with our friends.

Disclaimer: We don’t watch a lot of shows on Nickelodeon, so many of the characters we saw were total strangers to us. And even the ones we do know – like Spongebob – we don’t watch. But it was a moot point. We had a water park and a suite with separate bedrooms.

Additionally, we aren’t big Disney people either, so we didn’t have to do a lot of explaining when we said we weren’t going to Disney World. Jeremy asked maybe once, but that was it. Whew! (I think I did more sulking about not going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter… I just couldn’t stomach the cost.)

Upon arriving to Nick Suites:

All we really did was sit there. It was fabulous!

The only character-related thing we did at Nick Suites was go to the Meet-n-Greet on Saturday night. It just so happened that the two characters available were Pablo (from the Backyardigans) and Ming Ming (from Wonder Pets). I was all over that crap because we LOVE the Backyardigans! When Jack got wind that he was going to meet Pablo in person, you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.

What a bummer that the photo is blurry!

After meeting Pablo and Ming Ming, we drove over to Downtown Disney to visit the Lego Store and grab dinner. We had the most beautiful farewell from Florida:
