Conversation Overheard – Atari Age

This happened on the way home from the new Publix yesterday (which was super duper overpriced).

Jeremy: Have you ever heard of Atari?

Jackson: What’s that?

J1: It’s a video game that Mom and Dad used to play when they were kids.

J2: What game?

J1: Atari. I just told you. It’s what they used to play.

J2: Was I there?

J1: No, of course not. If you were alive when Mom and Dad were kids then you be something like 34 or 35.

J2: Oh, I’m six right now. But’ll I’ll be 24.

J1: Yeah, a long time from now. And when you’re 24, I will be 27.

J2: And then I’ll be 33.

J1: Yeah, and when you’re 33, I’ll be 36.

J2: And then I’ll be 37.

J1: Jack, when you’re 37, I’ll be 40. Sigh… Just stop. You’ll never be able to escape my age.

Say something.
