adventures in raising boys

Jeremy turns nine and Jackson cries

I sure hated this part, even though it was mildly humorous. My boys have a strong affection for Webkinz stuffed animals (which you can play with in an online world). Both Jeremy and Jackson have a handful of these guys and every other Christmas or birthday, I’ll add one to their collections. It just so happened that I bought the black Halloween cat last October on sale and saved it all this time for Jeremy’s birthday.

Guess who was terribly jealous about it.

For the record, I have a blue hippopotamus tucked away for Jackson’s Christmas, but I seriously considered giving it to him this weekend when I saw how disappointed he was. He got his hands on the black cat every chance he could and cried even more elephant tears when Jeremy took it back from him.

Disappointment is a life lesson, so I haven’t pulled out the hippo just yet… but oh am I tempted.
