In the eighth grade, our language arts teacher asked us each to write a paper using more than 20 of our vocabulary words. While other students labored over their one-page short story, I wrote an eight-chapter novella with ease. I knew then that I had something special that needed to be shared.
I spent all of ninth grade dreaming of a dual writing and photography career with National Geographic. Having already identified my travel bug, I concluded that traveling on the dime of a popular magazine and earning a paycheck at the same time would be the ideal set-up. However, by my senior year, I surrendered the fantasy and settled my mind on a career as a writer in any capacity. Eventually an interest in and love for graphic design came about, and it comes in as a close second to the written word.
The busyness of life as it appears on this site includes my family and pets, our travels, thoughts on parenting and religion, and running towards my next marathon medal.
My original blog was created in 2005 to maintain regular contact with our birth families and extended family members who don’t live near us. Over the last eight years it has provided a powerful way to stay connected with them and keep those we love in the fold of our everyday goings-on. Whether we know you in real life or not, thanks for dropping by and come back soon.
P.S. You can access a few favorite posts from my previous blog here. (If you’d like to read more, just email me.)

Love the design of your blog, it looks great!
