All Five of Them

When Chuck first asked me on a date, I said no. It was August 1995, we were 17 years old and I loved my independence too much to be attached to a boy. He persisted, and by February 1996, I caved. We were married in 2000. He was right all along.

Shortly after we began our family through adoption in 2003. Jeremy was a blessing beyond all measure. When Jackson came along in 2006, I announced with confidence, “Yes, miracles can happen twice.”

Together we enjoy the outdoors and traveling to new places. In our house are more Star Wars action figures and little green Army men than I can count. As the only girl in this house, I’ve mastered the art of escapism. I love them, they vex me, and my life is richer for it.

We added Salem to our family in July 2010, one month before our sweet coonhound Hank passed away. Salem is fiercely independent (is there any other way to be?) and is kind enough to do his business outside.

Our most recent addition is Major, a soon-to-be-huge blue tick hound who will serve as our very own University of Tennessee mascot.

Adorable

  1. Hi Jennie

I am new to wordpress so am just having a look to see what’s out there and came across your site. Love the photographs. I too have a large black cat called Otto unfortunately although very independent (definitely not a lap cat!) does not like having his photograph taken. If you have a chance do have a look at my site as I always welcome feedback. I can be found at http://www.jacquelinemidgen.wordpress.com. Look forward to hearing from you and receiving any new updates to your site/blog.
