Burn, Baby, Burn

While Disco Inferno spins around in your head for the rest of the day, know that my brain is spinning just as fast. It’s been a busy week at work with two evening photo shoots (one last night with the Amarillo Bulls and one tonight with Lacey Brown), a couple of features to write, two freelance projects for the newspaper AND two chapters I need to complete in the book. My weekend is looking to be anything but labor-free. I’m thankful for Monday off of work so I can stay home and get some work done. Burning the midnight oil, burning the candle at both ends, etc., etc…

Speaking of work, the word is out on my intentions to leave. It’s a sore spot for me because I still dearly love writing and creating for the magazine. However, living this far away from family is no longer conducive and, with that, we need to start making our way back to Tennessee (albeit several years before we intended to). Michele has known all along and together we decided it was time to make it public – meaning it was time to tell the higher-ups and start looking for my replacement. As upsetting as it is, it’s the right thing to do. I’m already thinking about my next adventure and doing so keeps me from bawling over leaving a wonderful job. I really will cry. I’m already warning you. It’s coming.

As you can imagine, the house is on the market. To make all of this work, the perfect buyer needs to walk through our door and agree to everything we ask. It’s gonna happen so don’t start with your negative energy! Instead, send us happy vibes for a quick sell. Do your part to bring us home.

Since I’ve committed to completing the coffee table book, I will not leave until it’s done. We have a goal month, and in a perfect world, we’d close on the house the week after I finish the book. And while I know God’s timing is perfect, I really hope He and I see eye to eye this time.
