DIY Christmas – Day 6

1. Cinnamon stick snowflakes tied with white yarn and traditional plastic ornaments from the dollar aisle at Target hang in the kitchen window. Total cost: $1 (for the ornaments)

2. Vintage hot chocolate tins from last year, found deep in the back of my pantry, sit on the ledge. Total cost: Free.

3. Large “Texas-sized” jelly beans fill a glass vase – this was the big splurge. Total cost: $3.50 for the beans. YUM.

4. Sticks from the yard were spray-painted silver and placed in a holiday glass with cotton balls. (Same arrangement on the mantel.) Total cost: Free.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the semester and my last day at the magazine, which means we’ll start making our gingerbread house in the afternoon. Let’s see how much comfort eating I do with the 1 lb.-bag of M&Ms.
