Titletown Took It!

What a night! I was all a-Twitter and texting my Dad and fidgety throughout the whole game. The boys fed off my energy and ran circles around the living room while I jumped up and down like a hurdler in an Olympic race. People, because the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl, we now have the perfect last chapter for the book. Jim, the author, has been given the sweetest gift of a successful football season.

But it’s not like he ever doubted. No, the man has had “a feeling” for months. He first spoke of it to me the night the Packers beat the Bears, that he felt this was going to be a particularly great year, that his team could go all the way, and that everything has fallen into place with the book thus far, so why wouldn’t EVERYTHING fall into place?

He and his wife went to Dallas on Friday to attend a few pre-game functions with people from Green Bay but fully intended to watch the game in the comfort of his own green-and-gold man cave. He’s superstitious, so watching the game anywhere other than his basement could prove fatal for the team. However, due to the snow, their direct plane was rerouted to Lubbock, which meant they had to rent a car to drive back to Amarillo. This was the picture message I received about 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon:

His text message read: Flight home was delayed so flew to Lubbock and driving home. Check out plates of rental car! PVY means Packer Victory.

Now you tell me – how likely is it that rerouted flight passengers (and Packer fans) headed from Dallas to Amarillo would get a rental car in Texas with Wisconsin plates with letters like those? I’m just sayin’.

As of last week, we were very near the end of the book, but suddenly there’s another chapter to be written. I certainly don’t mind.
