– Walked to Starbucks
– Strolled the Riverwalk taking pictures
– Gone for a four-mile run along the Riverwalk
– Eaten a Snickers bar
– Lounged in the rooftop hot tub
I haven’t spoken to anyone, minus a quick phone call from Chuck and the four times I said “excuse me” to people I passed while running.
There will probably never, ever be another post like this until the boys are in college.
My impression of San Antonio is mixed. The Riverwalk is very quaint (if you ignore the joints that are clearly geared towards misbehaving men. I just wanna bust in and say, “All of your mothers would be so disappointed in you for being here!” but since I’m a good Southern woman, I’ll just judge them silently.) Aside from those places, the whole of the Riverwalk is lovely.
Above are the regular streets of a semi-bustling city. I walked down some of these streets this morning to grab coffee, but at times I felt unsafe or that I could make a wrong turn down a wrong road. Fortunately, I could walk down one level from the Starbucks back to the Riverwalk and towards the hotel. The difference between the Riverwalk and the “regular” city is notable.
Can you believe I miss the kids? I know, I know. Slap me. It’s only a few days.
