We had friends over last night and upon reaching our doorstep for the first time they discovered a newly hatched baby bird roasting in the afternoon sun. It didn’t even look like a bird because it barely had a patch of fuzz on top of its head.
After calling a local vet and getting no help whatsoever, we Googled how to take care of a baby bird – what to feed it, how to keep it warm, and so on. Being a nurse, Tracie had the tender touch to care for the poor thing while I just paced the floor worried. Thank goodness she was here, or I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it on the porch, and if I had, I certainly wouldn’t have known what to do about it.
