Mama needs a vacation. I know we just wrapped up the Christmas holidays and all, which did include lots of sleeping and eating, but it’s that time of year again when I crave going to the beach. I don’t know if it’s the cold weather or that we have several more months to go until we can wear shorts again, but it’s always right after the Christmas decorations come down that I crave the ocean. Since we have no plans to go to the beach anytime soon, I’m just going to relive past vacations via photos.
Oh, Isle of Palms, you are most lovely.
The boys and I got back to school yesterday, despite their best efforts to convince me otherwise. Fortunately, after we reviewed their work from the end of last semester, we discovered that they are ahead of schedule in a few subjects. Jackson, in particular, could finish first grade by March if we keep at this pace. I continue to be amazed at how he excels in reading and spelling! For example, he just spelled aloud harmonica, summertime and aquarium with complete ease.
Of course, he still puts his shoes on the wrong feet, so there’s that.
How interesting… On our family walk today, we almost skipped the afternoon responsibilities and headed to the beach. It’s nice to know we aren’t the only ones.
