It’s been a roller coaster week, but one of the high points was definitely Jeremy graduating high school. We were so pleased to have family in town to celebrate with us.
It was a longer ceremony than I anticipated, but for a small homeschool group, it was nice to have something to mark the kids’ achievements. When we decided to start homeschooling our kids in 2011, I had no clear vision for what it would look like through the high school years, much less what a graduation would look like. Frankly, I didn’t think we’d homeschool past elementary!
And yet, our boys have had all of the perks that students have in traditional school, like prom, sports, both fun and tough classes, and now a proper graduation ceremony. It’s all worked out. Sweet relief!
After the ceremony, we had a joint party for Jeremy and Foster, who’ve been friends for at least eight years so. (We can’t seem to pinpoint the exact moment they became friends, but I think it was somewhere around 2014/2015). This was taken in 2017:
The next kid to graduate is Owen!
