For the record, this is what our youngest cherub used to look like:
It is a bizarre phenomena that babies grow up and suddenly become this:
Jackson has been *the most* delightful teenager I’ve ever known. He’s creative and kind. He’s funny and tenderhearted. He knows when he needs a break and then he takes one. When he’s asked to do anything around the house — literally anything — he hops up and helps without complaining. When he’s flustered, he goes for a run to clear his head. He saves money, which isn’t easy for a lot of teenagers. Seriously, the child keeps his room clean and organized by choice.
He still loves his job at the movie theater, which is where we chose to take his senior photos. He works there several days a week while taking Dual Enrollment classes and wrapping up the rest of his credits at our co-op and at home. His senior season is an absolute breeze.
We are brainstorming ideas for his graduation trip. Right now, he’s leaning towards Norway or Sweden, or both, if we can swing it. (He still says our trip to Iceland is his favorite.) Beyond that, we’re watching the days tick by on the calendar, begging time to slow down. Whenever I mention graduation, Jackson is quick to shush me. One of the greatest compliments he’s given us is saying how much he loved his childhood and he’s sad to see it go. What parent could ask for more?
We are so very proud of you, Jackson. We love you dearly!
