Blog Challenge Day 8: Old Photo

Post an old photo!

It seems a bit redundant to post an old photo of me since I use an old photo in the header (which serves as a great reminder to keep my sense of humor and not take life so seriously), but in the spirit of continuity, I’ll do what I’m told.

While pulling together pictures for our anniversary video, I found a stack of photos that must have been used for the slide show we shared at our wedding reception. They were in perfect order – both mine and Chuck’s – spanning childhood and our teen years. As I flipped through I found one that struck me as completely adorable and not at all a reflection of how I am in the morning:

Morning person

What a pleasant child I must have been! And look at those straight bangs! Well done, Mom.

If I had to guess, this was taken after a nap and not first thing in the morning because I don’t know any child who wakes up like this.

  1. At Ft Lee your *cozy* room was as the head of the stairs. Often you’d “let me know” when you were awake & ready to get up by {ahem!} making certain noises using your crib …nope, not w/cute phrases or songs. And then, “Ta-Daaa!” once the door was open = success! Instant Memory!!

    1. Did we live at Ft. Lee twice? I thought we were at another base in Virginia prior to Mississippi. Those early years are confusing! And by “cozy,” do you mean it was a closet or nook? Because I know your definition of cozy isn’t my definition of cozy.

  2. Ft. Belvoir is right! Your room had essentials for a 1-yr-old, customized snoozing place + diapering station. Downstairs was for playing, socializing, & exploring w/your doting big sister? in our large living/dining room, nice back yard, & a wonderful playpen full of toys. Ft. Lee was the long bus ride to school for you both, you in full day Kindergarten & Becky in 3rd gr.
