On the recommendation of a friend, we split our time between Bergen and Odda, a tiny town only a two-hour’s drive inland from Bergen. It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve visited on our travels.
The trek to Odda from Bergen was its own adventure with roadside waterfalls, tunnels, and a lovely ferry ride.
The ferry crosses at Jondal. I love, love, love the architecture of Scandinavian homes.
We also stopped at Steindalsfossen, a stunning waterfall you can walk under — for free!
The little town in the center of this photo is Odda. It’s entirely walkable, and no matter where you are, there is something beautiful to see.
We went exploring on a whim! These mountains were steep, so we didn’t hike as far as we could have if we’d planned better for it.
We also drove up to Ringedalsvatnet Lake near Trolltunga, a big destination for major hikers. (We are not major hikers.)
