My Weekend Affair with the Nikon

When I mentioned to a friend that I’d be going on a field trip with Jeremy, he graciously asked, “Do you want to borrow my camera?”

No need to ask twice – YES PLEASE.

I’ve daydreamed about a Nikon for years. (Ever since the D90 came out in 2008, it’s been No. 12 on my 43 Things list.) So for Danh to just HAND me his D70s for fun and games, I was thrilled. I was SO thrilled that I shot 375 photos this weekend.

The bulk of the photos are multiples so I could play with settings, angles and lighting. Some are the result of being trigger-happy. Fortunately we had several things planned this weekend that warranted photos, starting with Jeremy’s field trip to Maxwell’s Pumpkin Farm on Friday. There was flag football on Saturday followed by pumpkin carving, and today was a Halloween party. There’s no way I could edit and upload all the ones I loved tonight, so here’s just one to be festive. This is the entrance to the child-size corn maze at Maxwells.

I still have A LOT to learn, but that’s part of the fun. I’ll post more photos throughout the week as I go along.
