There’s a Curve in the Road

This video serves two purposes. First, it is a tribute to my parents who used to prop the old VHS recorder onto the dashboard of our Safari van during our trips around Europe. Somewhere there are videos – endless hours – of our driving in the Bavarian countryside with Mom and Dad’s music playing in the backyard. (Becky and I probably had our Walkmans on to drown it out.) Good times, I tell you! Some of the sweetest memories of my childhood are family vacations.

The second reason for this video is show Michele McAffrey how suffocated she’d be driving in the mountains. We had a conversation last year about this – I told her that I thought the wide open space in Texas had weight and tended to suffocate me, while she felt the long tunnel of trees back east would make her claustrophobic. Therein lies our biggest difference. Enjoy, Michele (and everyone else)!

  1. I love this and I love the road! Tennessee is so beautiful! You are so “at home” there. I will be there on Thursday…Nashville not Knoxville.

  2. Oh Sherry I wish I could meet you! I will be in Atlanta this weekend, so I won’t even be here. Happy racing, though! Finish strong!
